a film trailer...

So yea here is his film trailer... I remember we spoke about making some sort of documentation of this, and I would love to write a small book or make a short film about this project, if you guys think it's cool... Let me know your thoughts... If we made a short film we could potentially get loads of people there... so who knows... Youtube and vimeo is gold...

*its a bit cropped, so it might be better to go watch it on the youtube link...

Atmosphere

Was looking at Jonsi (Lead singer from Sigur Ros), and he is doing this amazing cross platform show of live music/film/animation called 'Go Quietly'...it's all based around a burnt down taxidermy, and all the animals come to life... Nice idea in terms of atmosphere... Some imagery from there...

Areaplay: Manifesto

Imagined drawing of the space:

Beanbag idea: crocodile:

It would look like the long one at the bottom, it would be a two-seater beanbag like a bench. I wanted to choose an animal for the beanbag design that wasn't very cuddly. Not sure if we're still making beanbags but it was fun drawing some crocodiles anyway.

Bean Bag Animals

Play with Jimmy

In this modern age many urban working adults have forgotten how to have simple wholesome fun. During childhood we were often placed in environments of play, in which we were forced to interact with objects and other people. In this environment we can escape from the worries and complications of life and simply use our imagination and the tools of play placed in front of us. We can be whatever, wherever, whoever we want.
Now surely there could be a place like this for adults, and surely it would be beneficial. This is our aim - AREAPLAY!

Ideas for shop interior...
POWERPLANT - edinburgh festival

This was amazing, 'Power Plant transforms the lush and dank houses of the Botanical Gardens into a magical and at times thrilling experience.' - telegraph. Artists used light and sound installations involving video projections and old furniture to transform the space completely. It has got me thinking about using light and projections in our space. Here are a few photos -

Here is a photo of how light and projections can change a space dramatically - perhaps suitable for the bar?

Interactive light sculptures are interesting, like the one below that reacts to the viewer's touch.

Animal slide

Depending on how large the space we find is, it may be interesting to build partitions and structures like the ones below. I like the use of colour here too.

Interesting ways to alter the natural light of an environment shown below.

i had to put one up!

to create a space filled with exciting furnishing, furniture and toys, to make an adult playroom where people can come hang out have a drink and buy our goods.

An idea.

This is kind of what i have in mind for an idea of mine. Almost setting out paths for people to react to. Derived from Twister, encouraging people to engage with each other for example, placing footprints or something similar in positions that collide with other peoples footprints.

some things i've stumbled across for inspiration...

A lovely and original way of creating an environment

lonely glasses’ by jess atkinson. http://www.jessatkinson.ca/
“A pair of non-prescription glasses that function as an anti-lonely device, giving the user the feeling of being surrounded by people when worn.”

Just thought they were pretty funny.

shopfront

ok so this place is on florence road opposite the royal albert pub next to the number 6 house. i found out from the car garage a few doors down that it belongs to number 6, i looked through the wooden gate nect to it and there was bike and bits and bobs like a shed i couldnt push the letter box open to look inside. i posted a little note through number 6 explaning what we was looking for and if it was free to use blablabla and left my name and number and email, not sure what to do next, to try knocking on there door again when i pass. also if this is a possibilty it dose look like a lot of work need to be done to it which could be fun :D so i guess we just have to wait and see on this one, but how perfect is the front!

i also brought a little pouf from the market haha and some vintage curtains wth a jazzy flower pattern on them im thinking bean baggage :D

found these in the depths of the web. Maybe some use for us... http://cottonmonster.com/
